Hibernate and Sleep – What is the Difference?
Hibernation in computers is a state when the computer isn’t completely shut off but when using this function, it feels like the computer is turning off and on but the speed at which it is doing so is much quicker than the actual process of turning the computer on and off. The information that is open stays open as well. Hibernation is just as stressful to the computer as turning it off and on so there aren’t any benefits as far as reducing stress on the system.
Sleeping, on the other hand, is when the computer is still running but at a low power state. This is the better option among the two as the computer is ready in an instant and there is minimum stress on the internal components when the computer is sleeping.
